Junk Silver - Is a slang term used in the coin industry for 90% U.S. silver coins that have no numismatic or collectible value due to the coins having been circulated and worn down. These coins are dimes, quarters and half dollars prior to 1965 that contain 90% silver and only retain their silver value.
