Ni - Is the chemical element symbol for nickel on the periodic table.
Nixon Shock of 1971 - Was a series of economic measures taken by President Richard Nixon in 1971 including canceling the direct convertibility of the United States dollar to gold, otherwise known as taking us off the gold standard.
North America Mints - The U.S. Mint opened in Philadelphia in 1792, which at that time was the nations capital. The U.S. Mint was the first federal government building. The Royal Canadian Mint opened in Ottawa, Canada in 1908 and a second facility was established in Winnipeg, Canada in 1976. The Mexican Mint, which by far is the oldest mint in North America, was established in 1535 in Mexico City. Since 1983 all Mexican coins have been minted in San Luis Potosi.
